🚼Stroller

Edinburgh's Old Town has steep, cobblestoned Royal Mile and numerous stairways that are genuinely difficult with a stroller — Victoria Street and the closes off the Royal Mile require a carrier. The New Town, Princes Street Gardens, and the Scottish National Museum area are stroller-friendly.

🍽️Food & Eating

Edinburgh has excellent family-friendly options including the world's most famous shortbread and a growing food market scene. Scottish breakfast, fish and chips, and haggis (for the adventurous toddler) are reliable classics. Most cafes and casual restaurants have high chairs.

🛡️Safety

Very safe with very low crime. The Scottish weather is unpredictable year-round — a waterproof rain cover for the stroller and layers for the baby are essential every day. Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's Seat require carriers for most of the interesting areas.

🏥Hospitals

Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh opened in 2021 and is Scotland's main dedicated children's hospital — excellent emergency capability. NHS provides free emergency care to all visitors.
