I'm Candice. I live in Sydney with my two kids and my husband. We travel a lot — always have — and having children didn't change that. It just changed what we need to know before we book.
Our first family trip after having kids was to Bali. My youngest was 11 months old. I spent weeks researching whether the hotel actually had a cot, where the nearest hospital was, and if I could get a pram through the streets without losing my mind.
The information was scattered across mum forums, outdated blog posts, and TripAdvisor reviews from people travelling with teenagers. None of it was useful for someone with a baby on their hip and a toddler who melts down without a 12pm nap.
So I started keeping notes. Which cities had footpaths wide enough for a stroller. Which ones had good public healthcare. Where you could actually find food a two-year-old would eat. My husband started scoring them — because he's that kind of person — and eventually we had a spreadsheet that other parents kept asking for.
That spreadsheet became Toddler Vacay.
We score cities on the things that matter when you're travelling with under-fives:
We also publish guides — written by us and other parents — covering the practical stuff you actually need to know. No "top 10 romantic restaurants" lists. Just honest info about whether you'll survive the trip with your sanity intact.
Travelling with small kids is chaotic. There's no getting around that. But it's also some of the most fun we've had as a family. Watching my daughter try ramen for the first time in Tokyo. My son losing his mind over the fish at Singapore airport. My husband carrying both kids through a Bangkok market at 9pm because nobody wanted to go back to the hotel.
I built this so other families don't have to do the research I did. Pick a city, check the scores, read a guide, and go. Your kids won't remember a perfect trip — but they'll remember that you took them.
